Melnik is one of the key red grapes in Bulgaria. It’s bright red colour and light bodied wines have been sought after for many years. Melnik is cultivated all over Bulgaria but it takes on different personalities depending on the area of the county it comes from. In the south west of the country, close to the Greek border, it is produced by wineries such as Logodaj Winery.
