Treixadura is a white grape variety found in Galicia. It is typically used as blending grape alongside Albariño. It is the most widely planted white grape in the Ribeiro appellation. Generally producers aim to maintain its fresh, fruity character, although it is not unusual to find wines with oak influence.
Bodegas El Paraguas is a joint project garage winery in Galicia by wine journalist Marcial Pita, and award-winning fourth generation oenologist Felicísimo Pereira. With a focus on the Treixadura grape on high elevation slopes in Ribeiro, the wines have drawn comparisons with Burgundy for their depth and mineral characteristics.
