The owners made their money through Portugal’s highly visible Delta Coffee company and the headquarters is located next door. Otherwise, Adega Mayor represents a sea of greenery in an otherwise dry and arid Campo Maior.
The winery continues to experiment with different varieties and blends and has recently had a go with Pinot Grigio, perhaps the only winery to do so with the variety in this hot region. Winemaking is headed up by a team of oenologists including Rui Reguinga, Carlos Rodrigues and Bruno Pinto da Silva.
