Cantina Vignaioli del Morellino di Scansano is a co-operative cellar in the Tuscan village of Scansano, famed for producing Morellino di Scansano. The company also produces wines from a handful of neighbouring appellations.
“The wine shows a medium ruby colour. The nose is spicy and savoury, slightly restrained, opening up with nuances of withered flowers and dried cherries. The palate offers a classic Sangiovese vibe: slightly rough tannins, high acidity, savoury notes of tomato leaves and hard, irony character. Looks promising but needs more time.”
“The wine shows a medium ruby colour with a garnet rim. The nose is rather discreet, with aeration opening up nuances of fallen leaves, a hint of sweet spices, dried cranberries and goji berries. The palate reveals a sound imprint of oak, grippy tannins and bold character. The finish is warming and spicy. An autumn wine.”
