Samsó

Samsó is a red grape variety grown in northern Spain. Grown predominantly in Montsant, in the region of Catalonia is has enjoyed a renaissance in recent years as the trend toward reviving old vineyard has revealed some outstanding plots capable of making excellent wines. The grape is more commonly known as Carignan. Samsó is also used as a synonym for Cinsault although this can create unnecessary confusion.
