A variety that is arguably regarded more favourably by experts than it is by the average wine consumer, Sémillon is a golden grape in terms of both its skin colour and the value it brings to a blend, in particular to the sweet wines of Sauternes and Barsac. The rich concentration of sugars in Sémillon grapes delivers wines with a remarkable silky texture.
