Teinturier du Cher

Teinturier du Cher is a rare red-fleshed grape variety from the Loire Valley, primarily used in small quantities to add deep color to red wine blends. Unlike most red grapes, which have clear pulp, Teinturier du Cher produces juice that is naturally pigmented, resulting in intensely hued wines even in modest concentrations. While rarely vinified on its own, it has historical significance in central France and continues to be maintained by a few producers interested in heritage varieties and traditional blending techniques.

Offspring: Deckrot
