Today the winery and its vineyards are run by Céline Dugerdil and her partner Frédérik Serdaly, who produce a range of elegant and authentic wines which reflect the diversity of the terroir in which they are grown. The domaine cultivates a number of different grape varieties in small parcels scattered across the canton’s wine growing regions in the villages of Avully, Choully (Satigny) and Dardagny. Amongst the whites are the Swiss staple - Chasselas, the ancient German variety - Riesling, and Sylvaner - a natural crossing of Traminer and Österreichisch-Weiß which is more commonly planted in the Valais region. The reds comprise of six distinct varieties including Switzerland’s most prolific grape - Pinot Noir, and the cantonal favourite Gamay. At Domaine de la Printanière grapes are harvested by hand and vinified at the winery in Avully which was built by Laurent and Lili Dugerdil in the 1990s. Still, sparkling, red, white and rosé wines are produced here including single-source varietals from (amongst others) Chardonnay, Gamaret and Merlot, as well as some intriguing blends such as Le Sybillus - a fusion of Kerner (85%) and Sauvignon Blanc (15%), and Le Camerlot - a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Garanoir. The domaine is also one of nineteen local wine-makers who produce their own version of L’Esprit de Genève - a cantonal speciality red blend created to evoke the character of the region. Like so many of these small scale Swiss operations, the team at Domaine de la Printanière prides itself on commitment to craft and respect for the land; their passion for their work is reflected in the quality of the product that it yields.
