Domaine Huet

Domaine Huet is easily one of the great names of Loire winemaking. Their premium Vouvray wines have earned a reputation for ageing and improving for many years.

🗺 Loire Valley, France

Domaine Huet encompasses 30 hectares overlooking the village of Vouvray where they grow some of the greatest expressions of Chenin Blanc anywhere in the world. Founded in 1928 by Victor Huet and subsequently developed by his son Gaston Huet, the domaine was established with a fine reputation for producing exceptional wines farmed from three, now celebrated, vineyards - Le Haut Lieu, Le Clos de Bourg and Le Mont. During the 1970s winemaking duties were carried out by Gaston's son in law, Noël Pinguet (who resigned in 2012) and chef de cave Jean-Bernard Berthome. They were amongst the first to adopt biodynamic farming ideas and to this day, these principles continue to form the pillar of Domaine Huet's viticultural philosophy. In 2003 an American business man, Anthony Hwang, purchased the company and invested considerably in the winery. Domaine Huet consistently releases excellent wines that age and improve for many years and still release an enviable collection of older vintages onto the market.
