The Donum Estate, established in 2001, is a renowned winery in the Carneros region of Sonoma, California. Specializing in single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, it integrates sustainable farming with an extensive open-air sculpture collection, creating a unique sensory experience for visitors.
In 2011, Hong Kong–based art collectors Allan and Mei Warburg acquired The Donum Estate, infusing their passion for art into the winery's identity. Dan Fishman serves as Vice President of Winemaking and Vineyards, overseeing the production of terroir-driven wines with minimal intervention.
Founded in 2001, The Donum Estate has evolved under the Warburgs' ownership since 2011, blending fine wine production with a world-class art collection. Their vision transformed the estate into an international destination, harmonizing viticulture with contemporary art installations.
Located in the Carneros AVA, The Donum Estate spans over 200 acres between Napa and Sonoma Counties. This region's cool climate and rolling hills provide ideal conditions for cultivating Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
The estate's vineyards are certified organic and regenerative organic, reflecting a commitment to sustainable farming. Planted with various Pinot Noir and Chardonnay clones, the vineyards are managed to enhance soil health and biodiversity, ensuring high-quality fruit that expresses the unique terroir of Carneros.
Donum's winemaking philosophy emphasizes minimal intervention to allow the vineyards' character to shine. Grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, fermented with native yeasts, and aged for 16 months to develop complexity while preserving the purity of fruit flavors.
The Donum Estate produces limited-production, single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines that reflect the nuances of their specific terroirs.
