Founded in 2012 by Erin Brooks and Todd Gottula, Ernest Vineyards reflects their passion for cool-climate wines. In 2018, Joseph Ryan joined as Winemaker and Vineyard Manager, bringing expertise in low-intervention methods. The team also includes Chad Walsh, Global Sales Director, and Nicole Yasinsac, Director of Hospitality.

Inspired by the unique character of wines from the West Sonoma Coast AVA, Erin and Todd established Ernest Vineyards to explore cool-climate, marine-influenced wines from California's rugged northern coastline. Their commitment to sustainability and organic farming practices has been integral since the winery's inception.

Ernest Vineyards operates in the West Sonoma Coast AVA, sourcing grapes from various vineyards influenced by the Pacific Ocean's cool climate. Their tasting lounge is located at 320 Center St, Healdsburg, CA 95448. ​

The winery farms 35 acres in the Freestone-Occidental area using certified organic and regenerative methods, with a focus on dry-farming and utilizing electric vehicles and equipment. ​

Under Joseph Ryan's leadership, Ernest Vineyards employs low-intervention winemaking techniques to produce wines of restraint with naturally bright acidity and engaging complexity, allowing the vineyards' character to shine. ​

Ernest Vineyards offers a range of wines, including their Estate Pinot Noir and Estate Chardonnay, both showcasing the cool-climate characteristics of the Sonoma Coast. They also produce single-vineyard selections like the Joyce Vineyard Chardonnay and Cleary Ranch Pinot Noir. ​
