The estate is owned by entrepreneur Luca Vogliotti, who launched the project as an expression of his deep connection to the Monferrato landscape. Vogliotti’s ambition is to combine the heritage of Piedmontese viticulture with a forward-looking, quality-driven approach. He is supported by renowned Italian enologist Donato Lanati, whose expertise guides the winemaking and ensures technical precision. The legal entity operating the estate is Enoxentia S.r.l. Agricola, reflecting its structured and professional management.

Although newly established as a brand, Tenuta Genevrina builds on the long-standing winemaking culture of the Monferrato region. The estate represents a modern chapter in a historic wine area, with the intention of elevating Monferrato wines on both national and international stages. The emphasis is on innovation without compromising authenticity, and the winery views itself as a bridge between tradition and the contemporary wine world.

The estate lies just outside the village of Ozzano Monferrato in the Province of Alessandria, a picturesque zone characterised by gently rolling hills, vineyard terraces, and historic hamlets. The soils in this part of Monferrato are rich in limestone and clay, ideal for cultivating Barbera, Grignolino, and other native varieties. The location benefits from alternating warm days and cool nights, contributing to wines with freshness and depth.

Tenuta Genevrina farms several vineyard sites in the immediate hills around Ozzano Monferrato, though parcel names are not widely publicised. The focus is on local grape varieties including Barbera, Grignolino, and Bonarda, grown with the aim of expressing the nuanced soils and microclimates of the area. The estate adopts sustainable viticulture, with attention to canopy management and soil health. Innovation is welcomed, but always with a respect for the natural rhythms of the land.

Winemaking at Genevrina is led by Donato Lanati, whose approach blends scientific rigour with a respect for terroir. Fermentation and aging decisions are tailored to each variety and vintage. Stainless steel is used for freshness in white and rosé wines, while reds may see time in oak or concrete depending on the intended style. The winery is equipped with modern facilities and follows a low-intervention philosophy designed to allow the fruit and site to shine. Experimental cuvées, such as a white vinification of Barbera, reflect the estate’s creative mindset.

The estate produces a focused range of wines, including Barbera del Monferrato, Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese, and Bonarda, often under expressive and unconventional labels. Wines such as “Ettore” Barbera and “Anticonformista” Bonarda embody a blend of classic regional character and modern stylistic flair. A sparkling wine, “Brivido,” adds further diversity to the portfolio. Overall, the wines are fruit-forward, precise, and designed to reflect both place and personality.

Tenuta Genevrina welcomes visitors to its estate for guided tastings and vineyard experiences. Guests can explore the evolving winery architecture, learn about the estate’s philosophy, and taste through a range of local wines in a modern setting surrounded by the Piedmontese hills. The estate occasionally hosts events and themed tastings that tie wine to local art and culture, offering a contemporary expression of Monferrato hospitality. Booking in advance is recommended to ensure a personalised visit.
