#### History of Tenuta Sette Cieli The estate was created back in 1994 when the Ratti family purchased almost 70 hectares of land close to the village of Monteverdi Marittimo, between Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci. #### The estate of seven skies Tenuta Sette Cieli translates as the estate of seven skies and was named in reference to the visual diversity seen from the winery’s high altitude vineyards. At more than 1300 feet, the estate offers panoramic views of the territory. #### Why the focus on international varieties? Tenuta Sette Cieli chose to plant plant international varieties. In 2000, the family began planting the first vineyards on the property and today there are almost seven hectares planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec. There is also a small plot of Sangiovese gaining maturity.
