Horst Sauer has farmed the Lump vineyard in the village of Escherndorf for generations. Here the winery cultivates Silvaner, and is known for excellent wines from the VDP Grosse Lage Am Lumper 1655, a south-facing precipitous slope of limestone soils and vines that are over 30 years old.
