Montessu is typically a full-bodied red wine produced with a majority of the Carignano grape in the south of Sardinia. It benefits from cool nights and long warm summers. This is a highly regarded wine and one that frequently achieves good scores from international critics. The wine is generally aged in used French oak for 12 months.
