Tignanello is one of the world's most famous red wines. It was one of the first Tuscan wines to be aged in small barriques and amongst the first wines in the region to be produced exclusively from red grapes. Tignanello was first produced in 1971 and subsequently produced, or at least bottled and sold, only in the favorable vintages. As such it was not produced in 1972, 1973, 1974, 1976, 1984, 1992, and 2002.
