Ascheri is an MGA located on the lower slopes west of the town of La Morra, just outside the historic centre of Barolo village. The soils here are a mix of clay and sand with some marl, and the site’s lower elevation results in a warmer microclimate. Wines from Ascheri tend to be open-knit and approachable in youth, showing ripe fruit, soft tannins, and a round, generous character with less emphasis on structure and more on charm.
