Frémiets - Clos de la Rougeotte wines

Fremiets-Clos de la Rougeotte is a 0.5 hectare sub-plot within the larger Fremiets Premier Cru vineyard on the northern border of Volnay, adjacent to Pommard. It is a monopole owned by Bouchard Père & Fils, who farm and vinify the site exclusively. The vineyard combines the elegance typical of Volnay with a slightly firmer profile influenced by its proximity to more structured terroirs. With clay-limestone soils and a gently sloping aspect, it produces Pinot Noir that is finely textured and aromatic, often showing red cherry, peony, and subtle spice, along with a touch more grip than wines from central Volnay sites.
