La Gigotte wines

La Gigotte is one of the smaller and less widely known Premier Cru vineyards in Volnay, situated near the southern end of the appellation close to the Meursault border. With well-drained limestone and clay soils and a gentle slope, the site produces Pinot Noir that is light on its feet, showing delicate red fruit, soft tannins, and a subtle mineral line. While rarely bottled on its own, La Gigotte contributes finesse and aromatic clarity when blended, and reflects the quieter, more restrained side of Volnay’s southern terroir. It is also listed as one of the appellation's official Liu-dit.
