Taillepieds is one of the most highly regarded Premier Cru vineyards in Volnay, situated on a steep, well-exposed slope directly above the village. The name, meaning "heel cutters," refers to the sharp, stony terrain underfoot, where thin soils rich in limestone and gravel produce wines of intensity, structure, and precision. Pinot Noir from Taillepieds is known for its firm tannins, mineral backbone, and lifted red fruit, often requiring time in bottle to reveal its full complexity and graceful power.
