Villero is one of the most esteemed MGAs in the commune of Castiglione Falletto, located on moderately steep, south to southwest-facing slopes with well-drained clay and marl-limestone soils. The vineyard produces classically structured Barolo with dark cherry fruit, floral lift, firm yet polished tannins, and a clear mineral backbone. Villero is prized for its balance of power and finesse, and has been bottled by some of the region’s top producers as a benchmark expression of Castiglione’s ability to unite strength with elegance.
