The village of Marsannay sits at the northern most point of the Côte de Nuits and boasts the rather unusual ability to produce white, red and rose wines within its appellation stratus.
Without any premier cru vineyard sites in Marsannay the village can suffer from a bit of an image problem. The white wines are improving, and the reds are generally light and fruity.
