Established in 1972, the Amynteo appellation is considered one of Greece’s great Xinomavro expressions.
Florina PGI wines are generally produced from vineyards grown on the Amynteo plateau, just to the north west of Naousa.
Goumenissa is a PDO wine founded in 1979. It is located in the rolling foothills of Mount Paiko in the south west of Macedonia. It is known for the cultivation of the red Xinomavro.
Naousa is arguably Greece’s most important red wine region. Produced from the Xinomavro grape on the southern slopes of Mount Vermio, this is a fascinating area and one in which the concept of cru is becoming more prevalent.
