The Northern Rhône is often described as the home of Syrah. Fine wine appellations such as Cornas and Côte Rotie produce some of the best examples of the variety in the world. Blended with Grenache these wines tend to big and bold with lots of spicy red fruit.
The Southern Rhône, once famed for its inexpensive reds and its iconic Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the region is undoubtedly a rich source of exciting growers showcasing an array of terroirs such as Gigondas, Lirac, Rasteau, Vacqueyras and Ventoux.
