One of the most geologically diverse appellations in all of Burgundy, Pouilly-Fuissé produces complex wines from Chardonnay in the Mâconnais.
Wines produced around the commune of Mâcon are allowed to add the name of up to 26 officially recognised communes to the label.
Pouilly-Loché is a small white wine appellation in the Mâconnais. The key grape variety is Chardonnay and while these wines may lack the prestige of some of the villages in the Côte d’Or, they can offer excellent value.
