Pouilly-Loché is a small white wine appellation in the Mâconnais. The key grape variety is Chardonnay and while these wines may lack the prestige of some of the villages in the Côte d’Or, they can offer excellent value.
Viré-Clessé is one of the high quality Chardonnay appellations of the Mâconnais. It was granted official status in 1998. Viré and Clessé are two villages in southern Burgundy, lying between Tournus and Mâcon.
