“An outstanding example of Copertino. Seductive herbal notes compliment plum, damson and ripe blackberry compote. Earthy notes are encased in swirls of tobacco smoke, liquorice and morello cherry. Dense and brooding with subtle aromas of chocolate and blueberry on this finish. One of the great red wines of Puglia.”

Very complex, with suggestions of tobacco and cocoa alongside a herbal streak of balsam and Mediterranean plant. With time oak influenced aromas push themselves to the fore. Clearly a very well made wine showing balance and elegance. One of the best Salice Salentino wines around.”

“Very earthy, with lots of dried violets, cherry and liquorice. Plenty of evolution resulting in a gamey aroma. Full mouth coating of dark, brooding fruit. The palate is beautifully savoury, with broard shouldered tannins. Relatively cooler year given the decade that follows, but still a warm and sunny vintage yielding a rich, ripe structure. Acidity is still fresh. This is an impressively aged Chianti with classical varietal depth and concentration.”
